At Ahern, we continue to promote initiatives that bring technical knowledge to growers and help them make better decisions in the field. As part of this commitment, we held the 4th annual Cucumber Field Day at Baja Organics, located in Maneadero, Baja California.
The event brought together growers from the region, specialists, and members of our team to share a day dedicated to cucumber cultivation. During the tour, attendees were able to observe firsthand how our varieties perform, learn about their characteristics, and exchange experiences regarding the main challenges and opportunities currently facing this crop.

In addition to the field assessment, the program included two presentations that provided relevant technical and economic perspectives on agricultural activity.
Eulalio Fonseca, High-Tech Advisor at Ahern, presented the talk “Challenges Facing Persian Cucumbers in Mexico, ” in which he addressed some of the main challenges faced by growers and highlighted the importance of having technical information, suitable varieties, and management strategies tailored to the conditions of each growing region.
For his part, Dr. Ismael Plascencia presented a paper titled “Economic Outlook for 2026 in Mexico and the United States, ” offering an analysis of the economic context in both countries and the factors that may influence decisions and prospects in the agricultural sector.

The combination of field tours, specialized knowledge, and dialogue among producers made this event an opportunity to learn, share experiences, and foster conversations focused on the region’s real needs.
