In collaboration with Bayer Seminis, Ahern successfully celebrated the annual DĂa del Jitomatero event in YurĂ©cuaro, Michoacán. The event took place on the farm of one of our most important customers in the region, and was attended by more than 150 farmers. Attendees had the opportunity to learn about our flagship product, the SVTE8444 saladette tomato, grown in macro tunnels, and observe the impact of our high quality seeds on local crops. To make this occasion a memorable experience, a series of enriching lectures and activities were held.

The event was attended by two renowned speakers. The first, Dr. Raymundo GarcĂa, a specialist in viruses and bacteria, gave a talk on the evolution of these pathogens in the Saladette tomato, providing growers with valuable tools to improve their growing practices. The second speaker was Chucho Ramirez, former head coach of the Mexican U17 World Cup winning national team, who shared his experience on leadership and perseverance, transferring his teachings from soccer to agriculture and everyday life. Finally, the Bayer Seminis team gave a brief talk on how to identify pirate seeds, a crucial topic to protect crop quality and ensure competitiveness in the market. The Tomato Growers’ Day was an excellent opportunity for Ahern and Bayer Seminis to demonstrate their leadership in the tomato sector with knowledge, experience and an atmosphere of camaraderie with the region’s growers. See you at the next event!
