SALES REPRESENTATIVE
Responsibilities:

• Participate in the creation of operational plans for the sales department.
• Manage all stages of the sales process, from prospecting to closing.
• Analyze markets and develop appropriate commercial management strategies.
• Develop sales forecasts.
• Provide support in the collections area.
• Develop commercial seed varieties.
• Achieve and/or exceed established objectives.
• Provide technical support at the Culiacán Technology Center.
• Support other regions in organizing conferences.
• Follow up with the client portfolio and seek new prospects.
• Maintain cordial, harmonious, and professional relationships with clients.
• Monitor the market for different seed varieties to propose attractive offers to clients.
• Support the harvest area when necessary.
• Follow up on customer complaints related to the quality of Ahern’s marketed products.

• Support the opening of new markets for seed sales.
• Assist the Business Unit Manager in preparing the operational budget for expenses and sales.
• Provide support as an interviewer filter when vacancies arise.

• Drive regional sales to achieve established objectives.
• Provide the Business Unit Manager with all information related to sales projections and seed requirements.
• Increase the client base.
• Participate in the monitoring and evaluation of new genetics that could be introduced to the market.
• Monitor the seed variety market to offer attractive proposals to clients.
• Follow up on product quality complaints.
• Support decision-making in the introduction of new varieties.
• Evaluate new genetics.
• Stay up to date on market trends and report potential changes to the Business Unit Manager.
• Ensure confidentiality, avoid conflicts of interest, maintain ethical conduct, and disclose any relevant relationships.
• Perform any other related activities or tasks that contribute to the proper fulfillment of the role and do not interfere with colleagues or supervisors.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
• Previous role as a Sales Representative
• Experience in marketing horticultural seeds
• Experience in seed product development
• Budget management and control
• Understanding of product positioning against competitors
• Ability to identify and recruit successful sales representatives
• Five to seven years of relevant experience in international sales management of horticultural seeds (direct sales to growers)
• Must be located in Texas

The position can be located in Guadalajara or Zona Bajio.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Agronomy Engineering / Related Career
• 7-10 years in seed industry (horticultural, grain, forage), in roles of product development, applied agronomy or technical marketing.
• Demonstrable experience in field trials, variety releases and working with distributors/producers.
• Basic plant breeding, crop physiology, plant health, agronomic management by environment.
• Experimental designs and statistical analysis.
• Standards and certifications: labeling and traceability; local regulations in Mexico.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Standardize the way of evaluating trials for different growing areas and environments considering the different regions of the country.
• Select for each region of the country the most promising varieties in order to make them commercial. And present results to suppliers and internal team based on market sections, target market, current portfolio, competitors, market share, volume proposal based on demand generation and definition of long term forecasts.
• Maintain direct communication with development personnel throughout Mexico, in order to coordinate travel and business meetings
• Evaluate in each region the tests established in coordination with the development engineers, empowering the figure of the segment responsible.
• Select the variety of product to be shown in special events as required.
• Analyze monthly reports from the development team, as well as provide feedback to them.
• Coordinate product preview meetings including marketing and sales.
• Prepare technical data sheets once they have become commercially available.
• Collaborate with sales in the promotion of new genetics
• Maintain the annual test plan up to date, prioritizing the investment of resources in accordance with the sales volumes of our suppliers.
• Follow up on complaints and provide them with a timely solution.
• Report monthly research progress at the monthly managers’ meeting.
• Manage product life cycle (introduction, growth, maturity, retirement), technical and commercial guidance and positioning.
• Implement improvements in the analysis of results data for quick consultation.
• Plan and coordinate regional launches, field days, technical tours and sales force and distributor training.
