At Ahern, one of our fundamental objectives is to work hand in hand with farmers, thoroughly understanding their needs and fostering long-term relationships of trust. As part of our commitment to the agricultural community, in September 2024 we celebrated, as we do every year, a Field Day at the headquarters of one of our most important and distinguished customers: Rancho Los Pinos, located in San Quintín, Baja California. This event has established itself as a key meeting point for sharing knowledge, experiences and strengthening collaboration between farmers and Ahern.
This year, the event brought together more than 160 farmers from the region, who gathered to participate in a day that began with a conference given by the renowned financial analyst Erick Guerrero. In his presentation, Guerrero provided a detailed analysis of both national and international macroeconomic trends, explaining how these can influence the agricultural industry and, therefore, the strategic decisions that farmers must make to ensure the success of their crops. The talk was very well received, as it provided valuable tools to face the challenges that the sector is constantly facing.
After the conference, attendees participated in a tour of the crops at Rancho Los Pinos, where they had the opportunity to see live the advances in the production of tomatoes under shade netting such as Bola, Saladette, Cherry, Grape and Heirloom. This type of crop is a clear example of how agricultural techniques and innovation in genetics from seed companies such as Bayer, Enza Zaden, Harmoniz, Hazera, among others, can result in improved product quality and yield. Farmers were able to get an up-close look at best practices in crop management, exchange knowledge with Ahern experts and gain valuable ideas to implement on their own farms.
The day culminated with a delicious meal, which not only allowed the participants to enjoy a good meal, but also to strengthen the bonds between them and the Ahern team. This time together was key to reinforcing the sense of community and cooperation that we seek to cultivate.
Events like this are fundamental to continue building trusting relationships with our customers and collaborators. At Ahern, we strongly believe in the power of working together to make a positive impact on agriculture. We will continue to support this type of initiatives that allow us to share knowledge, explore new opportunities and, above all, strengthen the ties that unite us with farmers, who are the true pillars of the industry.
Without a doubt, this Field Day at Rancho Los Pinos was an enriching experience for all participants and reaffirms our commitment to the agricultural sector and to the sustainable development of the region.
